Install Japanese Input in Debian (Wheezy)


sudo apt-get install locales im-config
sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales
# select en_US.UTF-8, ja_JP.EUC-JP and ja_JP.UTF-8
# choose the default locale, e.g. en_US.UTF-8

# Install some Japanese fonts
sudo apt-get install ttf-kochi-mincho ttf-kochi-gothic ttf-sazanami-mincho

# Install IBus
sudo apt-get install ibus ibus-mozc ibus-qt4 ibus-gtk ibus-gtk3 ibus-clutter
im-config
# choose ibus

# Run IBus Setup
ibus-setup

# That’s all.
# Click Ctrl + Space to change input methods
